Or met someone who left you feeling drained for no apparent reason? These experiences are often interactions on an energetic level, through what many traditions call the auraโyour personal energy body.
Just as your physical body needs a shower and nutritious food, your energetic body requires regular cleansing and replenishment. Pranic Healing is a powerful, no-touch system of energy medicine that provides the tools to do just that.Founded by Master Choa Kok Sui, Pranic Healing is based on the principle that the body has an innate ability to heal itself. By learning to manipulate prana (a Sanskrit word meaning “life force”), you can accelerate this process. This guide will teach you the two foundational techniques of Pranic Healing: Sweeping and Energizing.
What is Your Aura and Why Does It Need Cleaning?
Think of your aura as a luminous energy field that surrounds and interpenetrates your physical body. It acts as a blueprint for your physical, mental, and emotional health.
Throughout the day, this energy field can accumulate stagnant, diseased, or negative energy from stress, environmental factors, and interactions with others.
This energetic โclutterโ can manifest as:
- Brain fog
- Fatigue
- Low mood
- Physical discomfort
Sweeping is the process of scrubbing this dirty energy away.
Energizing is the process of infusing your freshly cleaned aura with fresh, vital prana to promote healing and vitality.
Preparing for Your Pranic Practice: The Essentials
Before you begin, it’s important to set the stage for effective energy work.
- Find a Quiet Space: Ensure you wonโt be interrupted for 15โ20 minutes.
- Wash Your Hands: Physically cleaning your hands is a practical and symbolic act of purification before moving energy.
- Set an Intention: Take a few deep breaths. State your intention clearly, such as:
โMy intention is to cleanse my energy field of any stagnant or negative energy and fill it with vibrant, healthy prana.โ
The Importance of Visualization: Your mind is the key. Vividly visualizing the processes of sweeping and energizing is what directs the prana.

The Two-Step Practice: Sweeping & Energizing Your Aura
How to “Sweep” Your Aura (Cleansing)
The goal of sweeping is to remove congested energy from your aura and energy centers (chakras).
- Posture: Sit or stand comfortably with your spine straight.
- The Motion:
- Use your dominant hand.
- With your palm open and fingers relaxed, make long, sweeping motions starting from the top of your head and moving down, about 6โ12 inches away from your body.
- Imagine you are using your hand like a broom, brushing away dusty, gray energy.
- Use your dominant hand.
The Process:
- Start at the front of your body. Sweep from your head down to your feet, flicking your hand away at the end of each sweep to โdisposeโ of the energy.
- Do this several times, covering the entire front of your body.
- Move to the back of your body, sweeping from the crown down your back and legs.
- Finally, sweep down the left and right sides of your body.
Disposal:
It is crucial to dispose of the diseased energy youโve swept away.
- After every few sweeps, flick your hand vigorously toward the floor and mentally command the energy to be dissolved in the ground.
You can also visualize washing your hands under a stream of light or water between sweeps.

How to “Energize” Your Aura (Replenishing)
After sweeping, your energy body is clean but needs to be filled with fresh energy to avoid reabsorbing old energy or feeling drained.
- Connecting to a Prana Source:
Prana is everywhere, but especially abundant in sunlight, air, and earth. The simplest source to use is solar prana from sunlight. - The Motion:
- Face the sun (even through a window is fine, or just visualize it).
- Raise your palms toward the sun.
- Take a slow, deep breath, and as you inhale, visualize brilliant white or golden light (solar prana) flowing from the sun into the palms of your hands.
- Face the sun (even through a window is fine, or just visualize it).
The Process:
- Hold your breath for a moment and feel the energy accumulating in your palms. You may feel warmth or tingling.
- As you exhale, gently sweep your hands over the front of your body, from head to feet.
- Visualize this golden light pouring from your palms and saturating your aura.
- Repeat this breathing and sweeping process 5โ7 times.
With each breath, feel your entire energy field becoming brighter, stronger, and more vibrant.
Benefits of a Regular Pranic Self-Healing Practice
Incorporating just 10โ15 minutes of sweeping and energizing into your daily routine can yield significant benefits:
- Reduced Stress & Anxiety: Clears the energetic residue of worry and fear.
- Increased Vitality: Replenishes your energy reserves, combating fatigue.
- Enhanced Mental Clarity: Removing energetic clutter can lead to less brain fog and better focus.
